hi,
I have installed CiscoWorks on a Windows2000 server, it went all smooth but I cannot import and add devices. I tried to use the script CVS file it sees the device but cannot import it,. The issue is that , when I try to test, Telnet test comes back OK but TCP test fails! I beleive if one can telnet that is the indication of having a TCP connection sonce Telent sits on top of the TCP. SNMP fails too.
What should SNMP Community String must be on routers and swithecs that I want to import? should they be same all accross or different from device to dvice.
Can someone please shed a light on this problem?
Thanks,
Masood

Yes, indeed I did it the hard way just to learn it. As I have been a backbone engineer working with CLI on the GSRs and 7206s VXR, etc. Never worked with LMS. The CiscoView is working now after I loaded all the device supports, MIBs, etc.
I am getting the upgrade from the Vendor as this installed package was bought three years ago but never installed untill now.
I thank you for your support. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance.
Regards,
Masood

Hi,
Now that I have gotten my Cisco View to work I have problems with the ANI and the Discovry of the devices. The campus manager isn't discovering nothing and whern I run the ANI and give it an IP address of one of my devices (a device which is seen by the Cisco View), it comes backand says "no such device" or "no such subnet/networki". Is there something that I haven't doen yet? I tried to follow the help too but no result. thank you for your help in advance.
Thx,
Masood
