Configuring VLAN in a corporate network

Hussein Salum

Level 1

I am new in the field of Networking but I am eager to learn and understand different networking concepts. in starting I want to learn how to configure a network in a corporate office having a core layer 3 switch, a firewall, different servers (FTP, DNS, DHCP and Web server) and switch in every building in other 5 buildings where each switch has its VLAN configured and assigned with different characters. I want to understand how I can configure the network in a fast and good way.

Thanks in advance!

Hello @Hussein Salum,

"Fast" and "good way" are not compatible.

For network basis you should use Cisco Packet Tracer. It provides a simulated environment to practice and understand networking concepts, configurations, and troubleshooting without needing physical hardware. It's an effective tool for learning and gaining hands-on experience in a safe and virtual setting. You should learn about vlan, routing, add different services as FTP, DNS, DHCP and so on....

After that, start to learn vPC, VSS, stackwise concepts to learn about these technology and see if one of them could fit to your topolgy.
