CPI 2.2.1 - Snmp/Syslog messages

Hi all,

The VM team want to monitor the CPI vm (for the NOC) and to do that they want to know what kind of syslog or snmp message the CPI are generating,
regarding for example:

- High disk space.
- High memory.
- High CPU.
- etc'.

I found some documentation but its was not clear so I tested it in LAB using a free SNMPtester and a free Syslog receiver.

At first I used the Notification Receiver option.
then downgrade the CPI threshold to 1% (under Administration > Settings > PI Event Configuration).
but didn’t receive any traps.
I even stopped/started the services.

Then I tried this option:

1. using the cli add those commands:

-snmp-server host X.X.X.X version 2c XXX
-snmp-server community XXX ro
-logging X.X.X.X

2. downgrade the CPI threshold to 1% (under Administration > Settings > PI Event Configuration).
3. stopped/started the services.

but I didn't receive any traps. The only things that started to appear was SNMP Get request/response on SysUpTime, ifindex, ifAdminStatus , etc'
nothing regarding the threshold's that I've set.

In the end I discover the CPI server in the CPI Application and just then I started to get alarms regrinding the threshold.
for conclusion its seems that the the only option is left is to use the alarm notification,

My questions are:

1. Why didn’t I got the traps to the remote server?
2. How can I forward the alarms to a remote server?

can anyone assist??

Thanks

Dawit
