Hi
I installed the latest Cisco Prime Unified Operation Manager 8.7 and when I run a discovery for all devices, it is unreachable.
We have Windows 2008 SP2 64bit, Enterprise version on a ESX 5 platform.
I have enabled SNMP services on the server and added the security setting as per documentation.
And also have disabled the Anti Virus.
SNMP community strings to the devices are correct.
The failed process comes up with the following error:
(Unable to contact SNMP Service on Operations Manager System. Please check if Windows SNMP Service is installed and running on Operations Manager.
Please assist urgently,
Many thanks

Does CUOM 8.7 run on 64bit OS? 8.6 still required 32bit.
SNMP services on the system are only required if you need to SNMP manage your system itself, not to monitor other devices
Cheers,
Michel

Hi
The OS is OK, but for some reason I just cannot discover any CCM or Gateways, we previously had 8.5 installed on an older OS and on the same subnet, the SNMP to the CCM was fine, its not working on 8.7 Win2008.
Needed to know if there was anything special one needed to do in order to get this to work.
Thanks
Shabeer

The CCM's are discovered via SNMP and HTTPS credentials
I think most is done via https using the AXL service on the publisher
You must give the publiser ip in the discovery.
If the CCM's are the same as before then they should be configured correctly
Cheers,
Michel

We re-installed and since the SNMP services was enabled before the reinstall, the following error does not come up:
The failed process comes up with the following error:
(Unable to contact SNMP Service on Operations Manager System. Please check if Windows SNMP Service is installed and running on Operations Manager.
We also gave the Cisco User Account full access to the CSCOpx directory.
The CCM SNMP was restarted and was pointing to the CPUOM server.
And all is working fine, we are able to discover devices.
Thank for your kind input Michel.
