DCR Server is down /Daemon manager is processing other task

Hello

I have the following message "DCR Server is down  or inaccessible"

Also  more than 20 services are  in state "never started" : see doc

I tried to restart LMS

Lms is 3.2   on win 2003 Enter R2.

There is sufficient Dram and swap space ( 4 Mg and 8 Mg swap)

When doing a "pdshow" it end with error message " Daemon manager is processing other task in the queue, please try later."

In the DCR server log , there is only 2 line when I restart LMS :

[ Mon Oct 25 11:52:57 CEST 2010 ] Starting DCR Server...
[ Mon Oct 25 11:53:00 CEST 2010 ] No restore has happened

Thsi system has been working correctly for several month before.

Apparently no change was made after installation.

Could you please help me.

Hi mmisonne,

Kindly post the ouptput of pdshow and enable the debugging for DCR server as below :-

1.     Enable debug for DCR as follows

Navigate to CSCOpx\lib\classpath\com\cisco\nm\dcr and edit the dcr.ini file

+ Edit/Add the below line to that file :
DEBUG_DCR=1

Save this file and restart the daemon manager.
After waiting for 20-25 minutes so that all the process started, upload

dcr.log , dcrserver.log, dcrclient.log, syslog.log , CSCOpx\MDC\tomcat\logs\stdout.log and new pdshow output. Also kindly let me know if you have change the hostname of the server.( kindly post the output of Hostname from the cli of LMS server).

Thanks,

Gaganjeet

Hello,

This is strange.

DCR is up now, since yesterday.

Note that the customer reboot his server every day at 7h00

Since Oct 8 untill Oct 26, DCR could not start ( See DCRServer.log)

Waht happen in the 26 Oct ? : Nothing.

The saerver name was not changed.

Anyway, I change the ini file with debug, and I restart the LMS.

I send you the log file ( except the syslog and the dcrclient which are too big)

If you see something not normal, please tell me.

Otherwize, leave that dsicussion as it is until the problem reappear.

Can I leave the Dubug command in the ini file.

Hi mmisonne,

So far I dont see any error related with DCR issue and moreover most of the logs files truncated and not complete. You can monitor this for 1-2 days and see if its working fine. Without debug logs when the issue was there, its very difficult to tell what cause this issue.

Also, I dont find old pdhsow and dcr.log in the attachment and new pdshow output looks good so far.

Thanks

Gaganjeet
