Device Management accross WAN

Does LMS (Cisco Works) support device management accross WAN sites (connected thru HDLC/FR/ATM) ?

If I have a LMS2.6 ( 300 device lic) and i have 2 sites. Each site has 100 devices to manage. Can I deploy LMS at one of those site and manage/monitor the remote wan site?

Yes it can. The normal management SNMP/ICMP traffic shouldn't be an issue.

Ofcourse if the wan connections are overloaded this will impact the reliability of the NMS.

Software distribution might be an issue but you can overcome this by using remote staging.

I works great over WAN. Since the updates are really small and most of the healthchecks are done via SNMP. However if you have a congested WAN link today it might be a idea to have a distributed LMS platform. With one RME at each site. But if you have a couple of Kbs to spare it shouldn't be a problem.
