hi guys,

i dont have a very good background on snmp ... !!

i have 2Cat6500 with plenty of switches as edge, i have intsalled LMS ver 2.6 and would like to start discovering the whole network devices (switches and around 20 Routers)

i want the best practice snmp configuration on the switches and router ? in terms of seed...etc

if there is template or documnet will be appreciated a lot ...

The LMS deployment guide whitepapers can be found at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/cscowork/ps2425/prod_white_papers_list.html . You need to enable SNMP (either v1/v2c or v3) on all devices you wish to manage with LMS. It is recommended to pick seed devices that are core switches (i.e. that have a lot of CDP neighbors). Since DeviceDiscovery is multi-threaded, it can start discovering multiple devices on the network at once.
