Error 13: Invalid or unsupported executable format in IR809 Router

Dears,

I am trying to boot image file from rommon-2 mode in IR829 router, But there is an error 

rommon-2> dir

ir800-hv.srp.SPA.2.6.31
ir800-ref-gos.img.1.3.4.1.gz
ir800-universalk9-mz.SPA.156-3.M8

rommon-2> boot flash:ir800-universalk9-mz.SPA.156-3.M8

Error 13: Invalid or unsupported executable format

Can you anyone help me?

 - Verify m5sum (checksum) of the intended image and or download it again , as a sanity check.

Hi,

As explained here: https://community.cisco.com/t5/routing/recover-cgr1120-from-rommon-1-while-bootstrap-is-empty/td-p/3080907 you need to boot from extracted bin file via tftp. it worked for me. Only Eth2/2 interface works when issue "set ip" command under rommon.
