The AP should boot the RCV IOS. This should work. If not, console into the AP and reboot. Post the entire boot-up process. We want to see what the AP is doing.

RCV IOS?

Because there is no more CAPWAP IOS, the AP should boot the IOS found in the folder " ap3g2-rcvk9w8-mx". This is known as the RCV IOS.

How to check the IOS is found in that folder?

Post the complete output to the command "dir".

Console into the AP and reboot the AP. I want to see why the AP can't boot the RCV IOS.

Ok, leave the AP alone and observe it the AP can get the IP address of the controller.

%CAPWAP-3-DHCP_RENEW: Could not discover WLC. Either IP address is not
assigned or assigned IP is wrong. Renewing DHCP IP.

Post the AP command "sh version".

Configuration register is 0xF

This is no longer a wireless issue.
The AP has loaded the RCV image. If the AP still can't get an IP address, I'm going to start looking at a network issue.
Are you sure when plugged to a PC, the PC was able to obtain an IP address?

What kind of switch is the AP connected to?

yes,I got an IP

If the Cisco connected to the AP is Cisco, post the complete output to the command "sh interface <BLAH>".
