Hi,
I need some help on setting up a network. I have a desktop in my bedroom and want to connect a laptop downstairs. I need the laptop to be able to access the Internet. I have ordered a 5 port home router, but I am not aware of what types of cables I will need to use to connect the PC and laptop to the router and then the router to the Internet cable.
Please can anyone help me.
Thanks

Most likely you'll just need Cat 5 ethernet cables to connect the PC/Laptop to the laptop. You will prob also connect the cable modem via ethernet to the router as well.

The router is going to need a configuration whether it's basic IP addressing, NAT, etc...It depends on what type of router you have as well.
