Help with SNMP MIBs

I am upgrading from 3925E Routers to Catalyst 8300s.  With the changes made to the IOS, IOS vs IOS XE, I am trying to determine if the SNMP MIBs changed at all.  I use these routers primarily for T1 to VOIP conversion and not for routing purposes.  I have found in my current routers the OID "1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8".  At the end of each OID is an extra set of numbers that I have been unable to identify in any documentation so I assume the router is setting this.  For instance, I can see1.3.6.1.1.2.2.1.8.16, 1.3.6.1.1.2.2.1.8.18, 1.3.6.1.1.2.2.1.8.20, etc...  Can someone please tell me for sure where the last two characters resolve from.  I need to know if I have to set those last characters in my Cisco Config or if they will be the same in the 8300s.  I am using a Equipment Management System created by my company and we have these OIDs hard coded in them and trying to see if I will have to do any SW development to update the new OIDs for the upgraded router.  Sorry if this was confusing to read, I am not a SW developer and have never delved into SNMP in CISCO Routers.  I have found very limited  information from the previous engineers that configured our SNMP application but it doesnt explain what the last digits are from the OID, this is the only thing they left me "OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8.XX".  Where does the "XX" values get pulled in from? any help  or explanations are greatly appreciated.

Hello,

the OIDs you have found do not seem to have any value. I could not find an equivalent for any of those. Do you have any idea what information your management system is trying to get from the devices ?

You can use the SNMP Navigation Tool linked below to find any existing OID...

https://snmp.cloudapps.cisco.com/Support/SNMP/do/BrowseOID.do?local=en

The OID maps to the ifOperStatus.  We are just looking to evaluate if the Voice Channel is Up or Down via our own SNMP tool which is currently oper with the 3925Es.  I used the link you provided and it does appear there.  I found it here: https://snmp.cloudapps.cisco.com/Support/SNMP/do/BrowseOID.do?objectInput=1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8&translate=Translate&submitValue=SUBMIT.

Hello,

I did a further search, and I think the below explains how this OID works:

1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8 (ifOperStatus) is the OID used to check the status of the interface and to monitor a specific interface, use the OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8.x, where the 'x' is the SNMP-index number for that specific interface.

That means that the number following the '8' is the ifIndex of that interface. I am not sure if you can manually set this index (like e.g. on Fortigate routers, you can use the interface command 'set snmp ifindex', but I could not find an equivalent for Cisco).

Either way, you can display the ifIndex numbers with the command:

show snmp mib ifmib ifindex interface_name

If you use that command, do the ifIndexes match the OIDs (1.3.6.1.1.2.2.1.8.16, 1.3.6.1.1.2.2.1.8.18, 1.3.6.1.1.2.2.1.8.20) you are seeing ?
