How can CiscoWorks 2000 backup a running config of a router 3825?

Dear Expert,

A router 3825 (ip: 10.7.241.1) is connected to a DMZ switch 3750G(ip: 10.7.241.10)

In RME, I created a new running config file and saved in "Private Config"

If using CiscoWorks 2000 (LMS2.5),how can i backup the existing running configuration file of that router before deploy (overwite mode) the new one? Thanks!

Tommy

It appears you're using Config Editor to do a wholesale running config replacement, rather than NetConfig for incremental config change. In that case, you can schedule a Sync Archive job against the target router: RME - Config Mgmt - Archive Mgmt - Sync Archive, and make sure the "Poll device before configuration collection" option is *not* checked. Of course, you'd want to wait until the Sync Archive job comes back "successful" before proceeding with the config replacement.
