Post the complete output to the command "sh interface <PORT>".

reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255
Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set
Keepalive set (10 sec)
Full Duplex, 1Gbps, media type is RJ45
output flow-control is XON, input flow-control is XON

As others indicate look like a physical link problem, check cabling or replace and look at faulty connections too , same applies at other end. Interface counters may need to be examined over there too. If actions are taken don't forget to zero the counters , so then you have more easy view as to whether issues are resolved (or not).

Input errors AND output errors.  I do not see that too often.  Two-for-one special.

Did someone configure the ports speed manually?

Hello,

there should be numerous 'test' exec commands:

Router#test ?

Check which ones are available...

what model of switch ?

i would first check the patch cable and replace with new one - since you mentioned short circuit thinking port might have malfunctioning, do you have any spare port, so move the config and test it.

 - Also have a look at the interface counters ( show interface gi0/1  )
