I want to find the top talker on the network using LMS 2.5. How do i do this?

LMS is really the best tool for this. You can use the limited fucntionality of the mini-RMON manager in the CiscoView component (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/sw/cscowork/ps4565/products_user_guide_chapter09186a00804b0739.html#wp1007482). But you'd be better off using Netflow or an RMON probe (NetScout or such). LMS 2.2 and earlier used to include an RMON-friendly perofrmance tool (nGenius RTM) but that was taken out as of 2.5.

If you have a NAM then it has its own web interface to display the statistics captured for talkers.
you will get some basic stats from miniRMON with regards to talkers, but you best bet is a NAM that supports full/extended RMON.

so without a NAM blade i'm stuck with mini-rmon which doesn't show automatically show a top talker. It looks like it only show one port at a time and you would have to manually compare them to other ports.

You are correct, without a NAM or an RMON/Switch Probe you will only get miniRMON on a per port basis

Netflow statisitics gleaned from a router in your network would possibly be more illuminating to you. Use something like ManageEngine's NetFlow analyzer (limited free trial available: http://manageengine.adventnet.com) to look the the NetFlow data.
