how to customize syslog alert email..

hi,although i know that LMS is not a monitoring/alerting solution, but i was wondering if it is possible to get some sort of flexibility by getting customized syslog email notifications.

I have configured some Syslog action messages in

RME-->Syslog Analysis-->Define Automated Action

and am getting the email alerts on those.

But my probem is that i have 280+ devices, and i get emails for all of them...

One solution that i come up with was that i defined if conditions in the perl (email) file, and now i am getting messages from only few (although it some times send notfication for connected devices as well)..

Now i am thinking, if it is possible to et email alerts on per Interface bases.

E.g. I want to monitor only the trunk ports of particular devices.. I 'll filter out those particular devices in the perl file, but HOW CAN I LIMIT THE EMAILS TO TRUNK PORTS/INTERFCES ONLY???

Instead of using Syslog Automated action why don't you use DFM alerts. The alerts canbe setup for trunks/interfaces and when they come in you can forward them as syslog messages from DFM (for the int) to the syslog server.
