Hello,
I'am looking for a way to find the correct (and minimum) LMS version to use starting a given equipement.
Objective is to know if my customer can still use it's current LMS release + patch or change to next major LMS version
I browsed tons of cisco documentation without finding a clear information
if someone can help !

Hi Karim,
You should have a look at "Supported Devices Table for" and then version of your LMS server.
For instance, LMS 4.1 - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/4.1/device_support/table/lms41sdt.html
Best regards,

Hello Svetlana,
I did not have this link .
I'am not very familliar with cisco products but if i look at this link (LMS 3.2) : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/3.2/device_support/table/lms32sdt.html#3.2table
and take the Cisco Catalyst WS-C6506 Switch for the sample, you will see that it does not appears in the LMS 3.2 matrix, but in the table 8 (switches) of LMS 3.0 section
What should be considered ? supported or not with LMS 3.2 ?
Thanks,

To verify support, you should know the sysobject id.
First run snmpwalk with oid=.1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2 - this will give you the valuu, then you could verify support of this device in the table.

ok, sysoid is 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.45. It does not appear in the LMS 3.2 table, but it is in the LMS 3.0
should i consider that it is supported by LMS 3.2 ( is cisco product retro-compatible ? )

If you check "Supported Device Table for LMS 3.2" -
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/3.2/device_support/table/lms32sdt.html you will see that device with oid=1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.45 is supported in LMS 3.2
