How to understand MRP Ring ?

Dear All,

First, i am sorry because my english is not good. I have 1 question about MRP Ring:

in MRP Ring will have 1 node manager & so many node client , when node manager down , it will automatic vote new manager but i don't understand it will vote random or we can assign 1 device to become manager ? 

And in MRP Ring we need to use spanning-tree to prevent loop ?

Media redundancy protocol(MRP) is a data network protocol standardized by international electrotechnical commission as IEC 62439-2.
It allows rings of Ethernet switches to overcome any single failure with recovery time much faster than achievable with spanning tree protocol

I'd like to understand if MRP works pervlan or not.... From CLI i defined the vlan mpr that is a vlan where the nodes mrp exchange controll frame.

The blocked state port block all frame or only frame belonging to that vlan?
