ignored pacekts on interface

hi

when i check periodcaly my fastethernet interfaces i saw many ignored packets on them. What can cause them do you have any idea? My router has 32MB flash and 256 of DRAM and is cisco 7507 model.

Hi Friend,

Number of received packets ignored by the interface is genarally because the interface hardware ran low on internal buffers.

Flash, DRAM size is not at all related to the buffer size of interface.

So you can check what is connected to that interface and does your interface receive burst of traffic which the interface que cannot sustain and drops.
