I followed the procedure to download the Visio template, then export the map to Visio. However, there is no option to import the file to Visio. How can I do that ?
Thanks

Which version of Visio are you using? In Microsoft Visio 2003, Microsoft removed support for importing files of type CSV. I know that Visio 2000 (prior to Microsoft's acquisition) supports CSV files, as I have opened the export file with it. I am not sure about Microsoft Visio 2000 or 2002.

I have the same problem (LMS 2.5 -Topology services 4.0). Have you found a solution?
Thanks

If I remember, I think someone told me to use Visio2000 not 2003 to import the file that you export from Ciscoworks2000. I tried it from LMS 2.2, but not 2.5, and it works.

When opening the file in Visio that has been exported with Campus 4.0, do all of the devices still appear at the bottom of the Visio diagram or are they layed out like the map looks in the Topology View?

That is what I wish too; however, all devices overlapped in one spot after export to Visio. So, I give up to export the topolopy map until Cisco has improved that.

I'm pretty sure there are some Cisco TAC folks that read this forum. I hope they read this and can try to get something done about it. This really, really needs to be improved. The idea behind being able to export to Visio is grand but having the devices bunched up together is a joke! It's probably not too big of a deal if there are only a few devices but when you have several hundred or several thousand, it's useless.

...which is probably why it says that it is only reccommended to export at most 50 devices.
You cannot import .csv into Visio 2003 b/c MS decided for no apparent reason to drop support. I have a hunch Cisco would have to pay a license fee in order to allow Ciscoworks to export to a true .vsd.
I have found that they are not totally overlapped, but the problem doesn't appear to be Ciscoworks in so much as it is Visio - Visio is trying to import all of the devices on to a 8.5"x11" canvas. In most cases the network diagram is larger than that size so Visio smashes everything together to fit.
That said, I have found the exports to be pretty useless. Most of the lines are not glued to the geometery properly and the stencil uses small bitmapped icons instead of vector graphics which means they look fuzzy and pixelated if you zoom in on them or resize them to a larger size.
Basically, it just seems easier to diagram the network by hand using Visio instead of letting Ciscoworks do it.
Now what I do with Ciscoworks would do properly is print to our large paper roll plotters...it looks like it's printing but the plotter never starts.
