Inventory Collection internal command

Which command is used internally to obtain Inventory

Collection? I have seen some targets are not detected....

For example, in Inventory I can't see target's as 1000 Base SX SFP or 100Base FXSFP or VWIC2-2MFT-G703 or HWIC-1ADSL . Should they appear? or only devices that supports SNMP? I'm not sure how does it work...
