iOS loading embedded switch on a 3945 router

While trying to update iOS on an embedded switch in a 3945 router a Marine deleted the old iOS prior to loading the new one. Well, the new one was the wrong one. The result was that it is now unable to boot. 

In trying to use the xmodem method there is a problem. Because it is embedded and accessed only through g2/0 on the router. We have loaded the correct iOS on the router, but cant pull it through to the switch. 

Any help would be appreciated.

I am not clear in this situation whether you have access to the switch module which should be in rommon. If so I wonder if tftpdnld might allow you to transfer the image file from router to switch module.
