Limiting Config management to a group, inventory for all devices

Is there a "Clean" way to tell ciscoworks to do config management only on a group of devices?

I want ciscoworks to do inventory and syslog on all discovered devices.

But config management only on a group.

If this is possible, how can I achieve this?

The Archive Management application maintains an active archive of the configuration of devices managed by RME. Check out the following link for more information :

I think you didn't see my point.

There are devices for which I don't have the right access right to do config management.

I do have enough access the to do inventory and since I receive syslog and traps the "readonly" apps are happy.

RME completely ignores the absense of a write community string and passwords and simple scream error, and by doing so hides real problems with devices the I wish to do config management on.

If I could limit config management to a group this would resolve my issue.
