Hi,
Customer has firewall like Nokia and Check point, those firewall work like router, so they have information about resolution IP@/MAC@.
On UT we can't see resolution IP@/MAC@.
I would like to know if it is possible :
- get resolution IP@/MAC@ by snmp on 1.3.6.1.2.1.4.22.1.2 variable
- make an ut -cli -query all -export export.csv -u username -p passwd
- modify export.csv with resolution IP@/MAC@
- then import on ut db with ut -cli -import export.csv -u username -p passwd
Does the next ut acquisition minor or major will deleted IP@ on ut db ?
Do we need to export/import after each minor/major acquisition ?
Many thanks, Elisabeth

No, none of this is possible. In order for UT to map MACs to IPs, there must be Cisco layer 3 devices in the network that can provide ARP information. These devices must be managed by Campus Manager (so this excludes support for Cisco ASA, PIX, and FWSM firewalls). The UT import feature only works for notes and usernames. You cannot import details like IP or hostname.

Thanks for your reply.
last week I made test with export/import and I you say only Notes and User Name can be modify .
Do you think that can be an enhancement request :
- giving a list of non cisco device to get IP@/MAC@ resolution ?
Thanks, Elisabeth

You can certainly pursue the Product Enhancement Request (PERS) angle with your account team.
