Hello All,
While trying to troubleshoot mail alerts not receiving from DFM, i got the below error on both LMS and SMTP Server.
On SMTP server
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
250 HM02SQL01.test.com Hello [x.x.x.x]
mail from:itreports.alerts@test.com
250 2.1.0 itreports.alerts@test.com....Sender OK
rcpt to:employee@test.com
550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for employee@test.com
On Prime - SMTP log
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Exception: You have entered an invalid mail address. (550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for employee@test.com)
I am not recieving any alerts from LMS. What could be the issue..?
Quick help would be appreciated.

It seems your SMTP server is not permitting email addresses which are not configured on it to send email. Could you please try to configure you LMS server with an email address which is valid, like may be your own email address as sender's email add.
Please check and let me know if after that you receive the emails.
-Thanks

Do i need to register LMS server in SMTP server..? coz when i try in other servers to check mail from: and rcpt to:, it works for the same mail id ..

Including LMS server should not be required to be added on SMTP server. But you better need to check once on your SMTP why it is blocking requests from LMS server.
Just try once using a valid email address and try to send a test notification from LMS to see if it works.

Thanks for the response. I tried with many email id's but still it show unable to relay to it. Whereas same Smtp server with the same mail id works for ohter servers.

Seems your Exchange mail server is not properly configured to relay messages.
If you are using windows AD check this :
Exchange 2003:
Open the Exchange System Manager
Exchange 2007:
For Exchange 2007, create a second receive connector for external addresses as described in How to Set Up SMTP Relay in Exchange 2007.
Check Microsoft's Exchange Archive as well.
-Thanks
