GNS3 (Graphical Network Simulator 3): GNS3 is a popular open-source network simulation platform that allows users to build complex network topologies using virtual machines (VMs) and real network devices. It supports various network vendors and operating systems, making it a versatile tool for simulating different types of networks.

  1. Cisco Packet Tracer: Developed by Cisco Systems, Packet Tracer is a network simulation tool tailored specifically for Cisco networking equipment. It is often used for educational purposes and is particularly useful for CCNA and CCNP training and labs.

  2. EVE-NG (Emulated Virtual Environment - Next Generation): EVE-NG is another network emulation platform that supports a wide range of virtual machines and network devices. It allows users to create complex network topologies and run real-world scenarios for testing and learning purposes.

  3. VirtualBox: While not specifically designed for network simulation, VirtualBox is a general-purpose virtualization platform that can be utilized to create virtual machines and test network setups within those VMs. It's commonly used for creating virtual labs.

  4. Wireshark: Wireshark is a powerful network protocol analyzer that allows users to capture, analyze, and inspect network traffic. It's invaluable for troubleshooting network issues and gaining insight into network communications.
