Multicast traffic measuring on VLAN interface

Hi,

a want to measure the unicast or multicast traffic (in bps) on a vlan interface on 65xx switch. Is that possible with SNMP?

I tried v2 IF-MIB, and IFxMIB counters, but for vlan interfaces these are not responded, and these are in pkts/sec :(

The 'show interface vlanxxx' commands output is more informative,

Vlanxxx is up, line protocol is up

I would suggest activating netflow on the desired interfaces. This will provide granularity that is not available from the interface counters. Keep in Netflow will present load to the device. You can then pull the Neflow statistics via several methods.

We tried, and used Netflow for other purposes, but it's caused several stability issues. We've got more gigs traffic on these links, and if the Netflow is active the switches hangs on frequently.
