NAM Scheduled Caprture

Hi,

Is it possible to schedule a conversation capture between two hosts or VLAN? And how is it done.

No, this is not possible. This was requested a long time ago in CSCed88137, but it has not yet been implemented.

You can trigger a capture by going to Capture > Buffers. You should see an Automatic_Capture buffer. Click on the "NAM Alarm" link to configure a capture alarm. Create a new Network Layer Conversation alarm for the variable you want (probably bytes). Configure the various alarm options (i.e. src and dst addresses), then set a rising threshold. This could be small if you want to see all the traffic. The check the radio button to start a capture.

Is it possible to set specific time that the capture would be triggered, say 0100H and would last for 5mins?

No, this is not possible. This was requested a long time ago in CSCed88137, but it has not yet been implemented.

Thanks a lot, hopefully this could be implemented soon... This feature I think should be present on NAMs.
