Network monitoring with Cisco Prime 3.0 ? SPAN ?

Hello,

We are currently testing Cisco Prime 3.0. We would like to do network monitoring on switchports. With SNMP we only can see link utilization but we would like to have something more detailed.

There is a product called Cisco Prime vNAM but I can see it's already listed as End-Of-Life product.

What could be used instead of it? We would like to have all monitoring in one user interface, so we would prefer not to use something like ntop for SPAN and Prime for the rest. We would like to have it all in Prime.

Best Regards,

Marek.

If you setup your Netflow-capable devices to export Netflow records to Prime Infrastructure you will get some additional visibility of traffic flows. This used to require a separate Assurance license but is now included in the PI 3.x device license model.

That said, switch capability to export Netflow data varies widely among Cisco Catalyst switch models.

There are current generation NAMs from Cisco but I seldom see them deployed in my customers' networks.
