Hi All,

I have Linksys N300 Wi-Fi router. i want to setup this in my small business local network.

My local network infrastructure is:

ISP>CISCO1841 Router>unmanaged switch>end user

my all end user use static IP to access internet.

IP: 10.91.149.X

SM: 255.255.255.192

GW: 10.91.149.62

DNS: 10.40.98.X

i am connecting linksys with unmanaged swith and configuring the IP 10.91.149.50 with DHCP range 10.91.149.51 to 52.

now i am connecting my mobile phone/Laptop through wi-fi with linksys, both are connecting but internet is not accessing. showing can't connect internet.

kindly guide.

Hi there,

What model is the linksys? It sounds like it must be a router. If it is, then I suggest you define a new subnet for the wireless clients connecting to it. This traffic should be NAT'd to the outside interface (ie WAN port), and a default route configured to direct traffic to the cisco router (10.91.149.62). The Cisco router should be configured with a static route directing traffic destined to the wireless subnet to the linksys outside interface.

...If the linksys really is just a switch, then I recommend you do not configure DHCP on it and let the cisco router manage the pool.

cheers,

Seb.
