I'm about to buy a new server for lms and am trying to keep the cost down so I can buy an additional server.
As configured now I have the server set w/ dual 2.8ghz xeons and with 2 40gb 7200 rpm sata drives. I could go with 2 36gb 10k ultra scsi drives but I would have to drop one of the procs. So my question is should I focus on horsepower or on the speed/throughput of the disk subsystem and go with scsi?
If both are equally important I could just drop the additional server and get both the procs and scsi drives if that seems to be the consensus. Thanks for the recommendations.

Table 4 Minimum Server Requirements for Windows Systems: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/cscowork/ps2425/products_quick_start09186a008036dfa9.html#wp65203 do not list Xeon as supported processor. Only Pentium based systems

Xeon is a pentium based chip, so I assumed it was fine to use. I'd be willing to bet that a good portion of lms users are running xeon based servers as they are pretty much the standard in servers these days.
Looking at the guide, I see that it doesn't list Pentium 4's, but I can't imagine that we are limited to using pentium 3s?? I took the listing of p3 as a minimum so anything compatible/in the same family and more powerful (p4, p4xeon) would be fine?

ps - I still need to know if I should focus on the disk subsystem or on cpu power?
