Nexus 9K Smart licensing NXOS 9.3.7

Hi all

I have been trying to license the C93180YC-FX running 9.3.7 for the entire morning and I cannot make it to register to the on-Prem SSM. I am very familiar with IOS-XE smart licensing but Nexus seems to be a different beast.

I have an on-prem SSM with licenses already ready to go. The server is running version 8-202105. The two documents (see on the bottow) I followed do not seem to work for my set up. I appreciate call-home agent is used for many things but I just want to use it for smart lciensing and the documentation does not seem to provide enough information or sample configuration for smart licensing with on-prem. Has anyone succeded in registering their nexus with on-prem? Please share config example if possible or sighnpost me to a good source. 

the error I am stuck with is "Failure reason: fail to establish IPC connect with call-home"
