Hi,
I've configured NTP on Nexus 9k switches running nxos.7.0.3.I4.3.bin and my monitoring application can't pull NTP data from the devices:
CCH-N9K-01(config)# show run | i ntp
clock protocol ntp vdc 1
ntp server 192.168.1.60 prefer
ntp source-interface Vlan1
CCH-N9K-01(config)# show ntp peer-status
Total peers : 1
* - selected for sync, + - peer mode(active),
- - peer mode(passive), = - polled in client mode
remote local st poll reach delay vrf
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
=192.168.1.60 192.168.1.253 16 64 0 0.00000 default
CCH-N9K-01(config)# show ntp peers
--------------------------------------------------
Peer IP Address Serv/Peer
--------------------------------------------------
192.168.1.60 Server (configured)
CCH-N9K-01(config)# show ntp peers
--------------------------------------------------
Peer IP Address Serv/Peer
--------------------------------------------------
192.168.1.60 Server (configured)
CCH-N9K-01(config)# show ntp status
Distribution : Disabled
Last operational state: No session
I need to understand why the devices are in 'polled in client mode'. What does this mean? I don't see the device being synced and my monitoring application is not getting data. Any help would be appreciated
