Hello,
I'm new to Packet Tracer and trying to set up a simple network (Packet Tracer – Create a Simple Network Using Packet Tracer). I got the following messages on my command prompts:
Packet Tracer PC :
Packet Tracer PC Command Line 1.0
C:\>ipconfig /release
IP Address......................: 0.0.0.0
Subnet Mask.....................: 0.0.0.0
Default Gateway.................: 0.0.0.0
DNS Server......................: 0.0.0.0
C:\>ipconfig /renew
DHCP request failed.
C:\>
Packet Tracer Laptop:
Packet Tracer PC Command Line 1.0
C:\>ipconfig /release
IP Address......................: 0.0.0.0
Subnet Mask.....................: 0.0.0.0
Default Gateway.................: 0.0.0.0
DNS Server......................: 0.0.0.0
C:\>ipconfig /renew
IP Address......................: 192.168.0.101
Subnet Mask.....................: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway.................: 192.168.0.1
DNS Server......................: 208.67.220.220
C:\>ping Cisco.com
Ping request could not find host cisco.com. Please check the name and try again.

Your link between Router and Cable modem is connected to wrong port on Router. If you move mouse pointer over router, you see Internet port is not connected, it does not have IP from DHCP. Delete link and reconnect using auto link Or manual connection to Internet port. Make sure you use Internet port towards Modem. After that Router should get IP from DHCP server and ping as well website cisco com will work.
C:\>ping Cisco.com
Pinging 208.67.220.220 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 208.67.220.220: bytes=32 time=16ms TTL=127
Reply from 208.67.220.220: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=127
Reply from 208.67.220.220: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=127
Reply from 208.67.220.220: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=127
