Hello Everyone,
Currently doing a course on packet tracer where I am networking some printers, I decided it made sense to give the printers a static address as in practicality makes most sense, I checked on the web server side and saw there was a DHCP pool set to give out a max of 250 addresses starting from 192.168.1.0, this is my first time using CPT so excuse me if this is something really obvious, I first of all couldn't find a way to setup an exclusion on the web server to just not give out a certain range, I decided to set a static address just out of the range so 192.168.1.251, it seemed to accept it okay and the lines for the wifi connection re appeared I thought all good, went to ping it from the web server and it didn't respond, it seems after a few mins it is ignoring the static address I have assigned and just re selecting the DHCP option and giving it an address in the range, it does ping the IP DHCP provides to the device.
I guess my question is how do I give this printer a static address?
