PI 1.3 - delete data sources

Hello all,

we are running PI 1.3 with an installed assurance license for 100 devices. I want to delete some of my data sources (devices with enabled netflow), but I cannot find how to do it...

I have checked most of the manuals, but no luck.

Anyone knows how it works?

Thank you in advance,

Katerina

Deleting License Coverage for NetFlow and NAM Devices

You may need to delete license coverage for a NetFlow or NAM device when:

  • You have too many NetFlow and NAM devices for the number of Assurance licenses you have.
  • You want to stop using Assurance management features with one or more NetFlow and NAM devices

Step 1 Choose Administration > Licenses > Assurance License Manager. Prime Infrastructure displays the list of devices currently under Assurance management. It also displays the total number of Assurance licenses you have, and the total number of devices under Assurance management.

Step 2 Select the check box next to each device you want to remove from Assurance management, then click Remove Device.

Hi,

Thank you for your answer. Under Administration > Licenses, I get "Interface License Manager". In my first attempt to get netflow info on PI, I had not attached the interfaces to the license, although I had enabled netflow on my devices and the were showing up under Data Sources. I did get netflow information (top clients, top applications etc). What is the difference if I "tie" an interface to the license? What more info do I get?

Just to play around, I added some interfaces to the license and then deleted them. I was hoping that the devices, to which the interfaces belonged, would be removed from Administration > Data Sources. The are still there!

1) How can I remove devices from Data Sources?

2) If I enable netflow on another device, how long does it take for its interfaces to be discovered and put under Admin > Licenses > Interface License Manager?

Is there a document that has more information than PI Configuration Guide?

Thank you in advance,

Katerina
