Ping sweeps by LMS 2.6?

Does anyone know which piece of LMS 2.6 performs ping sweeps, RME or CM? I don't have DFM installed. I haven't seen similar behavior by LMS 2.2.

As was already pointed out, User Tracking in CM performs ping sweeps. This feature has been in LMS for a long time. It was definitely in LMS 2.2. You can disable ping sweeps under Campus Manager > User Tracking > Admin > Acquisition > Ping Sweep.
