Power Injector for non-PoE application

Can I use a power injector even if my application does not require PoE? My current setup is as follows: LAN switch (WS-C3650-24PS-S) located at Point A, power injector (AIR-PWRINJ1500-2=) at Point B, and access point (AIR-AP1572EAC-B-K9) at Point C. We need to provide PoE to a new gateway device at Point D. The easiest way to do this is to provide 120V power to the access point at Point C so that we can use the PoE output capability of the 1572 access point for connection to the gateway at Point D. Once we do this, we will no longer need PoE from the power injector since the access point will have separate 120V power. Can I just leave the power injector connected as-is? Obviously, I can just replace the power injector with a female-female RJ45 connector, but why replace it if I don't need to?
