Prime 1.3 as a Syslog Server

If Prime is set as a Syslog Server, where is the direcotry located that contains the log and how do I get to it if its a linux box?

I see a section for dowloading the log file and I have a couple of switches pointing to the server as their syslog host, but I dont see any syslog text file or and syslog messages in the download.  Any ideas?

Hi Andrew:

There's not a user directory where syslogs that are captured and processed are stored.  They are seen in the GUI under Operate > Alarms & Events > Events tab > Syslog tab.

However, not every syslog event that Prime Infrastructure is kept and displayed, currently it only shows severities 1-3.  Bug CSCud66666 is opened to have the syslog functionality expanded.

The general purpose syslog server is not quite baked on PI 1.x. Please refer to this related thread for some related information.

At this point, I'd advise either a different solution (Prime LMS has a working one) or waiting for PI 2.0 (August) and seeing if they fix it then.
