Good Morning,
I was recently upgrading a Cisco 3650-48PS from 16.6.5 to 16.6.7 in Prime 3.2. I tested the 16.6.7 version on 6 switches prior to deploying to multiple switches across our network. After Prime 3.2 tried to update the first 3650 switch in a group deployment it came back failed with error message "Failed to update the boot configuration in the device. Details:-Packet too short." I've researched this on the web and couldn't find any answers related to this error.
I will probably run this failed switch as an individual job in Prime 3.2 and have Prime erase the flash prior to deployment. Please let me know if you have seen this error message before and any possible solutions or reasons why this message is popping up.
Environment:
We are running ISE and 802.1x
Prior to Implementation:
1. Cleaned old software off all 3650 devices
2. Verified enough space on flash
3. Manually verified the md5 hash on each device (Even though I know Prime 3.2 verifies this as well.)
4. Deployed image 16.6.7 using Prime 3.2 with no errors
5. Ran activation job and failed on first 3650 device with error listed above
Thank you,
Doug
