Prime Infrastructure 3.2 autonomous AP migration

I've recently implemented a pair of cisco 5520 WLCs and have joined them to cisco prime 3.2.  This environment is entirely set up as autonomous AP and i'm moving them to a controller based model.  The company also has not had the access points below the ceiling tiles and no maps of where they are.  I'm trying to utilize prime to do autonomous ap migration but am getting weird error when trying to do so.  I've created the template and put in all the applicable information and after I select the AP and click convert I get this error "Exception while creating task: Selected controller for migration process is not managed.  Please discover/manage the controller and then proceed."  The controller is managed and i've done resyncs to try to get this to work.  Re added the controllers.  Tried different access points.  Upgraded firmware on controller.  Upgraded firmware on prime infrastructure from 3.1 to 3.2.  nothing has resolved this issue.  I have a TAC call in, but I wanted to see if anyone out here had any ideas.

 - Your initial 2 sentences are confusing ; a controller is not an AP. If AP's need to be converted to CAPWAP (controller based); then they first need to be converted from autonomous to lightweight (getting another image) , I don't know wether this can be done from Prime. At least the autonomous AP would have to be known to Prime first.
