Problems with Catalyst 3750 and camera Hikivison PoE

Hi everyone!

I have a problem with a couple of switch cisco Catalyst 3750. I have cameras Hikivision connected to the switches and work very well for a few weeks, but now some of the ports set down and the cameras don’t work.

When I shut/no shut the interface detect the PoE device but don’t change the status to up. The power inline have enough watts. There’s not IP conflict.

I already tried reboot the switch, change the cables, clear the interface config, set default config and config again but nothing works.

It doesn’t always happen, some times works fine and the switch just set the interface up.

In sh ip int brief show the interface down:

FastEthernet5/0/9    unassigned    YES    unset    down    down

sh Power inline:

Fa5/0/9    auto   on    7.0    Ieee    PD    2    15.4

And the log when I shut/no shut the interface:

Apr 4 07:04:28.522: %ILPOWER-7-DETECT: Interface Fa5/0/9: Power Device detected: IEEE PD
Apr 4 07:04:28.749: %ILPOWER-5-POWER_GRANTED: Interface Fa5/0/9: Power granted
Apr 4 07:04:28.749: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface FastEthernet5/0/32, changed state to down
Apr 4 07:04:29.865: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface FastEthernet5/0/9, changed state to down

I hope you can help me, thanks.

Update:

The sh power inline indicates that I've used 259 watts but there are 40 cams/7 watts each. 40*7= 280 Watts, so there are 3 cams that are not receiving power.

The model of 3750, a FastEthernet access port switch, does not support TDR.

Hi,

The cable is good, any way, I change the cable and the problem persist.

What did you change?  The patch cables?  What about the horizontal cabling?

Cheap so-called TDR testers will only test the first two pairs.  It will not test the third and four pair.

- Whilst the bug reports mentioned below might be related or not , I would in any event recommend to use the latest advisory software release on the 3750, if not  yet done. Also have a power cycle of the device after a software upgrade.

Hi,

I'm thinking that my problem is in the version of the IOS. I have other 3750s and works perfect, the only difference is the version, the working switches have an older version of IOS. Anyway, I will do the power cycle at the night.

Hello,

what is the exact Hikvison model (e.g. Hikvision Hilook 2K Super HD PoE) you have, and how is the power provided, are you using a PoE kit ?

Hi,

The camera is a Hikivision DS-2CD2132F-I and no, I'm not using PoE kit. the PoE is provided by the switch.
