PRTG and Netflow

Hi,

I've installed a trial version of PRTG to look at the netflow statistics from one of our routers.

It works fine in terms of reporting on the total volumes of traffic.

But, my router has a number of interfaces (leased lines to remote offices) and what I'd really like to do is to have a breakdown of traffic on each of these interfaces i.e. what are the top sources, destinations, applications utilising each link.

Is anyone out there using PRTG to do this kind of thing? If so, how is it achieved.

I've seen this kind of thing using ManageEngine's netflow analyser and Crannog's Netflow Monitor. However, I was hoping PRTG would be able to offer me the same kind of capabilities - albeit I might have to put a bit more effort into the configuration!

hi....

PRTG will give you bps in/out per interface but i am not sure it will give u netflow in trial version

netflow accounting works on netflow technology built into cisco ios...

so if u want to monitor b/w consumption in protocol wise or application wise u also try other netflow products..

u can try cisco NAM (network analysis module) for this purpose, try the following url for more info

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/modules/ps2706/ps5644/index.html

open source tools are also available for net flow try the one from http://www.openxtra.co.uk
