im trying to configure PVLAN on packet tracer but the command private-vlan is not recognised in packet tracer.

  and or probably not supported in packet tracer (pvlan). You may need real switch or emulator such as EV-NG.

PT is just a sim written to simulate real IOS for purpose of CCNA exam taking but it is not real IOS, it has several limitations which are based on what software developers can and cannot did/write in PT.
