"No route to host" on Cisco ASA 5505 Series

Hi all,

I apologise if I miss anything out or don't understand straight away, as I am new to networking.

I have been given a Cisco 5505 Series Firewall to mess around with, and I have a few questions. (I am using PuTTY as the virtual terminal connection).

I have connected the firewall up to my PC using a console connection, and have internet connection to my network.

When trying to ping a machine, I get the message "no route to host".

Is this because I haven't configured the firewall correctly, and if so, how do I?

Also, if I wanted to integrate the firewall into a network, would it interrupt DHCP, or would I be able to assign it a static address without having to worry about that?

first share the topology second please also share the config

Sorry, I'm quite new to all this. The config for the subnet is 255.255.255.0.

As for the topology, I'm not really sure. Was just wondering if I could configure the DHCP and integration in the command line interface.
