Slow Software Updates

A new install of LMS2.5 with Common Services sp1 on Solaris 8, Software or Device Updates seem to drag on for hours. When run from the browser this doesn't work so well. From the command line, it will work... eventually.

snooping traffic between the server and our proxy shows traffic dribbling along for the most part with the occassional burst of activity, presumably when it gets around to requesting a file.

Has anyone seen similar behaviour?

Thanks,

Ray

Yes, this happens to me as well.

Check for CiscoView Device updates from Cisco.com took me about 45 minutes

We have it on a windows box and even after applying sp2 it still has the same issue. I have a tac case open now, and they say it is still a known issues. I let you know what I find out from them!

Same here on windows. I eventually time out and get sent to a page cannot be displayed. I have to go on the server and delete the psu.lock file. I used to try checking all updates and had issues but now I get this when I click on 1 item like RME.

CW still needs alot of work. ;-(

I have the same issue, I'm running on lms 2.5 cs30sp2, windows 2k sp4. and updates either take forever or just time out. I'm glad other people are having the problem and it's not just me. thought it was our network.

Same here - seemed to work ok on CS3.0. First update I installed was sp2, and this is when I started having the problem. I might try and uninstall the SP to see if this clears things up

Well we had the problem both before and after SP2. After installing SP2 for campus manager, when I have it go to fill the software repository now it blows up tomcat with null pointer errors.

I'm starting to think they should rename this cisco don't works.
