SNMP V3 Issue

I have 5 switches Catalyst 3500XL. I`m trying to configure SNMP V3 in Auth Mode, but the software that monitor the Switchtes (SNMPc 7.0) display me the follwing error:

'V3: unknown engine id' error for Status Variable Request.

But in CAT 3550, the same configuration Work Fine.

The configuracion is the following:

access-list 10 permit host 192.168.1.100

snmp-server group CAT v3 auth access 10

snmp-server user TEST CAT v3 auth md5 LAB

snmp-server host 192.168.1.100 traps version 3 auth TEST

In SNMPc for V3 on Cisco you must leave the V3 Context field blank.

I got all my 3550 switches to work. However, my 3524 XL switches don't support the "snmp-server user" command. What version must I have for this functionality? I am on 12.0(5)WC3b. I've searched the site for details but come up empty. Please advise...
