SNMPv2 and MD5

Is it possible to use MD5 to encrypt SNMPv2 community strings? If so, how do I go about doing that?

To enhance the security of SNMPv2, MD5 is used in some implementations to authenticate communications between an SNMP server and agent. MD5 provides you with data integrity, origin authentication and checks for timeliness. Further, SNMPv2 can use the data encryption standard (DES) for encrypting information. If supported, the configuration for this will be dependant on the devices you are using. You should refer to the documentation for the device you are working on.
