I have 11mb of free space in flash and want to perform software distribution with a 7mb ios. I get :Warning - SWIM1049: The selected image requires Flash to be erased during image upgrade
I know I can blow away the .bin file and then submit the job and it will work, but just wondered if there was anything else I can do to stop this from happening?

Install larger flash :) Sorry to be so flippant, but it does require a bit of overhead. Depending on which platform you might have an issue with partioning or discontiguious memory blocks. What the docs dont tell you is that it needs 7mb of contigious memory to load the image. Earlier versions of platforms had command line memory management ability "compact" and "squeeze". These latest platforms are supposed to be all automatic, but sometimes they aren't.

thanks for the feedback. Pity we don't have the squeeze cmd to work with still.
