Switchover alert - lms4.2.3 - vss device

I recently received an alert from  lms4.2.3 indicating that a switchover had occurred on vss catalyst  6509's that we have. In going to the switch, there were no associated  messages in the logs. Completed an snmp walk and found all mods working  correctly.

Question: what would cause this false positive alert?   How can I prevent this from happening in the future?

I would suggest you open a TAC case and have an engineer look at the logs from lms as well as the logs on the device.
