Syslog Severity 5

If i setup syslog severity 5 in the syslog message filter, does this mean i will get syslog from 1 - 5 on LMS?

If you configure this on the device:

logging trap notifications

It means the device will send syslog messages with a severity from 0 to 5.

Thats correct you are right, but i want to further do filtering on LMS also by using syslog message filter to receive only syslog 0-5?

In that case, create a filter that matches on severity 6, and make sure your mode is set to Drop.  There is already a sev 7 filter, so just make sure that one is enabled.  With those two filters enabled, all sev 6 and 7 messages will be dropped by the SyslogCollector.
